Personal Training with Mark Ainsworth in Costa Mesa

From 354 pounds to the bodybuilding stage

Mark Ainsworth once weighed 354 pounds. He went on to take the stage as a competitive bodybuilder. That journey is at the heart of this invitation: your starting point does not have to define your next chapter.

At LIVE Superhuman, Mark pairs that personal experience with his credentials as a NASM-certified Master Trainer, health coach and nutritionist. Whether you are stepping into a gym for the first time or ready to take your training further, begin with a goal that matters to you—not someone else's finish line.

Think bigger. Start where you are.

The distance between 354 pounds and a bodybuilding stage makes Mark's story powerful. It is a reminder to be ambitious about what comes next, even when your goal feels far away.

You do not have to want a competition physique to relate to that journey. Your goal might be feeling more confident in the gym, building strength, changing your body composition or making exercise a consistent part of your life.

Set your mind on what matters. Then give yourself a plan, support and room to progress.

Mark's transformation is his own experience, not a prediction of your results. You deserve coaching that respects your health, circumstances and pace—not a promise that mindset alone determines the outcome.

Private personal training built around you

LIVE Superhuman offers one-on-one personal training in Costa Mesa. Rather than joining a group workout, you work directly with a trainer on your own goals and current abilities.

Training can focus on:

  • Learning exercise technique and gaining confidence with equipment.
  • Developing strength and working toward muscle-building goals.
  • Supporting weight-management goals alongside practical nutrition habits.
  • Building a routine that fits your schedule and experience level.
  • Reviewing progress and adjusting the approach as you develop.

A conversation with Mark is the place to explain what you want to achieve, what you have tried before and what support would make a difference. You do not need to be fit before you begin that conversation.

Training, nutrition and accountability

A workout is one part of the picture. Mark's background in training, health coaching and nutrition creates space to discuss daily habits as well as what happens in the gym.

Bring questions about your activity, eating routine, training consistency and realistic next steps. Agree on clear goals and how progress will be reviewed. Improvements in technique, confidence and consistency can matter alongside changes on the scale.

Nutrition coaching is separate from medical nutrition treatment. Mark does not replace your physician or another appropriately licensed clinician for diagnosis, medical interpretation of bloodwork or management of a health condition.

Training and recovery under one roof

Explore our athletic performance and recovery services if you would like to compare training and wellness options. Additional technology sessions are optional, separate services—not a requirement for progress or a claim about what produced Mark's transformation.

If pain, a recent injury or a movement limitation needs clinical assessment, physical therapy with Jeremy Simmons is a distinct appointment. Ask your treating clinician about any exercise restrictions before starting or changing a program.

Do I need to want to compete in bodybuilding?

No. Mark's competitive bodybuilding journey is an inspiration, not an entry requirement. Your goals can be everyday strength, greater confidence or a more consistent fitness routine.

Can I begin if I feel intimidated by the gym?

Start by talking with Mark about your concerns and experience. Private one-on-one training gives you a setting to ask questions and discuss an appropriate starting point without comparing yourself to a class.

Will I get the same results as Mark?

No particular weight change, physique or timeline is guaranteed. Individual results differ. Your plan should reflect your goals, health and circumstances rather than copy another person's transformation.
